Hello, I am Karen S. Thompson. I reside with my husband Rick (and our four cats) in beautiful
Tampa, Florida, where the natural surroundings inspire me to paint as often as I am able to.
I have a central nervous system disorder that keeps me in chronic pain, and I also have an
untreatable optic nerve condition that blurs and distorts my vision, so each of my paintings is
a painstaking labor of love. I pray for my vision to remain as long as possible so that I may
continue doing what I love to do - paint!
I first felt drawn to art as a very young child, but married early at age sixteen and was a mother by age eighteen. There was no time for art while I raised my two masterpieces, David and Mary Ann. Now that my children are grown and have created their own little masterpieces, I am now pursuing my dream of becoming a professional artist. I am a completely self-taught artist who first picked up a brush a year and half ago in December 2005.
Although I like painting various subjects, I most enjoy painting landscapes. I have a distinct style all of my own, which I hope you find pleasing to the eye. Enjoy your visit, and please send a link to this site to fellow art lovers that you know. Thank you very much for dropping by, and have a great day!
